"As an eclectic mix of music can change our moods or can be empathetic to the way we feel, so too can colour in all its diversity. The power of colour and the influence that it has on our everyday lives can go far beyond the emotions. It can influence what we buy in the shops, what we eat (not many people would eat a potato dyed black and purple?). Colour in its purest form can increase or decrease our heart rate, it can make us feel calm, aggressive, depressed, or happy, it can change our reality and perception. To explore colour without the constraints of function or figurative imagery is to open our eyes to an art form without boundaries and rules, dictated by our own preconceptions. Colour alone can convey its own presence and meaning, its beauty, passion and rhythm."
